Photo 30 May Rotem TamirModular Envelope, 2013game board with two instruments and a wall piece.

The core of this project is the invention of the instrument which I call ‘Modular Envelope’. It is a light object that in its closed position can be carried by a single body. When it expands it stretches out to almost the size of the game board itself. The instruments, which rest in their closed position on the board, can potentially be investigated by the viewer by scheduling an appointment with me.

Tom Simon

From the artist:

These sculptures and paintings are part of an ongoing body of work that together constitutes a psychic space, with each piece embodying a different part of the artist’s mind. Included are litanies of products along with images from their production, amateur pornography, childhood trips to the American West, and a 3D video from an abandoned school that evokes both horror films and cave or deep sea diving.
